L’Observatoire program of the Teacher5étoiles campaign ─ Introductory French immersion internships
To address the Canada-wide shortage of French Immersion teachers, ACPI/CAIP has created L'Observatoire - an introductory opportunity to observe and explore teaching practices in French Immersion. This program for university students (two-week stay) and high school students (one-day visit) gives participants the opportunity to:
- Observe and become familiar with the work environment.
- Gain hands-on experience with students and a teacher in a French Immersion classroom.
- See first-hand the impact of a French Immersion career on students' lives, learn about its requirements and continue to explore the possibility of working in this field.
- Experience the daily life of a French Immersion teacher and consider becoming one, too.
- Witness the progress of students in a French Immersion class.
Successful applicants receive a $800 financial contribution and a year's access to the members area of the ACPI/CAIP website. Associate teachers are also paid a fee.
