ACPI Certification - Introduction to French immersion

The ACPI Certification - Initiation to French immersion project is designed to increase awareness of French Immersion (FI) programs and immersive pedagogy among foreign-trained, immigrant and provisionally licensed teachers.

ACPI is creating a series of 8 course modules offered on a virtual platform that includes video clips, resources, exercises and an assessment. Each module is offered asynchronously to the targeted teaching staff, so that they can pursue their course freely. Once the modules have been successfully completed, the teacher receives a certificate issued by ACPI, which can be added to a CV or considered when hiring.

Targeted Results

Eight (8) course modules developed in consultation with experts in the field
School boards and universities use the modules.
Internationally-trained teachers, immigrant teachers and teachers with provisional teaching authorizations are more familiar with French immersion programs and immersive pedagogy in Canada.
More of these teachers are trained in French immersion.
